The 114 bed, 212,000 square foot rehabilitation hospital combines beds from VCU Health System and Sheltering Arms together in a new state of the science facility. The new hospital is on a 25-acre campus that provides room to expand in the future. The new hospital brings together the input of administrators, local caregivers, caregivers from other nationally recognized rehabilitation hospitals and former rehabilitation patients in order to ensure that the experience in the new building will be second to none. The patient rooms and the public spaces have been designed to maximize the opportunities for rehabilitation in as many areas of the facility as possible and not just in the gyms.
